Your Employment Matters
SEXUAL HARASSMENT TRAINING
Employers with 50 or more employees are required to regularly (every two years) provide a minimum of two hours of sexual harassment and workplace harassment training for supervisors. Initial sexual harassment and workplace harassment training must take place within the first six months of employment.
Supervisor sexual harassment and workplace harassment training must include specific examples of conduct that constitutes harassment. The training must also include information about how to prevent harassment, discrimination and retaliation in the workplace.
Recently, California has expanded employer training requirements to include "abusive" conduct in the workplace. Also, the law has been updated to include mandatory diversity training on gender identity and gender expression issues, as part of any sexual harassment prevention training program.
Kroop Labor Law's managing attorney, Marc G. Kroop, has successfully mediated, litigated, tried or appealed more than 100 cases involving sexual harassment or workplace harassment.
